Camps Equinunk and Blue Ridge is honored to be hosting A Night of Giving Back on April 11, 2024 at Hill Country BBQ in NYC. Enjoy a night of delicious BBQ food, 2 hours of beer, wine & margaritas and a performance by the BEST cover band, The BSTREETBAND.
As a community that cares for and enriches the lives of children since 1920, comprised of generations of campers, staff, and alumni, we believe deeply in helping others. Guided by our principles of Family, Childcare and Tradition, the Camps Equinunk and Blue Ridge family aims to further the impact, we as a community can make on the world around us - and in doing so teach our children the importance of philanthropy. It is this powerful message that has inspired our Night of Giving Back.
In bringing our extensive community together, our 2024 event will support a fantastic charity that you are very familiar with and is close to our heart, SCOPE - Summer Camp Opportunities Promote Education. The money raised provides “Camperships” to children from under-served communities to one of SCOPE’s 58 non-profit partner camps.
SCOPE - SUMMER CAMP OPPORTUNITIES PROMOTE EDUCATION
CREATING OPPORTUNITIES - Summer Camp Enriches Lives
SCOPE was established for one simple reason, to provide summer camp opportunities to ALL children, regardless of socio-economic background. Children who receive SCOPE camperships gain access to attend overnight summer camp throughout the United States, free of cost to their family.
Camp teaches life skills that encourage children to reach their potential long after summer camp has ended. 100% of the children receiving SCOPE camperships commit to staying in school.
SCOPE funds camperships to send children who commit to staying in school to nonprofit, American Camp Association (ACA) Accredited, resident camps which will empower them to develop to their full potential.
Children receiving SCOPE camperships have opportunities to learn new skills, connect with nature, and develop a sense of independence that can only come from being away from home – these gifts help them succeed at summer camp and beyond.
